Sepertinya untuk kedua kalinya gue harus melewatkan kesempatan melihat Mogwai tampil live. Kesel sih, karena gue sudah merencanakan untuk nonton mereka di bandung besok malam, dan 2 hari yang lalu gue mulai dilema karena ngerasa ngga enak badan efek dari kehujanan dan seminggu ini dikejar-kejar deadlines. Tadinya gue masih yakin bisa memaksakan fisik gue untuk tetap berangkat ke Bandung di hari minggu pagi dan balik ke Jakarta malam atau besoknya langsung ke kantor, sampai kejadian tadi malam yang mengakibatkan radang tenggorokan dan flu gue semakin jadi.
Mungkin lain waktu.

"Apa susahnya sih untuk menghormati keputusan seseorang dan berhenti memaksakan kehendak?" pertanyaan ini sering kali terlintas di kepala tapi agak susah buat diomongin, apalagi ke teman. Hanya karena sudah menolong seseorang bukan berarti lu bisa mengambil alih keputusan orang itu, membuatnya seolah-olah keputusan yang dia ambil kurang tepat lalu menyarankan untuk melakukan hal yang sesuai dengan keinginan lu. Perlu diingat bahwa ngga semua orang punya jalan yang mulus dan simpel seperti yang lu jalanin sekarang. Jadi hargai mereka yang berusaha untuk meluruskan jalannya.

In Bb 2.0 adalah proyek musik dan narasi yang kolaboratif oleh Darren Solomon dari Science for Girls, dan dibuat dengan kontribusi dari pengguna situs web video sharing YouTube.

Sekilas tentang cara kerjanya, play salah satu videonya kemudian pilih video berikutnya, dan perhatikan bagaimana setiap video akan tersusun menjadi sebuah aransemen kontemporer. Setiap video dapat diulang berkali dan mixing bisa diatur dengan cara mengatur volume dari masing-masing video.

this fascinating piece of animated sci-fi from France is so good, well recommended for lovers of the genre and of the artist. designed by Jean Giraud AKA Moebius, a great graphic novelist. you can check some of his works in here.

well, the animation looks a bit primitive by today's standards, but it still better than American cartoon like Disney's at that time, and it was an independent film with limited budget! :D

if you are looking for some poppy yet intricate and smart music, i think you should listen to bando parto. the band has caught my ears for the past 4 months, and it's still worth my time to listen to. yes, the band apart is a mighty staple of the Japanese indie rock scene, i was amazed with their elaborate blend of pop-punk, light jazz, chamber pop, surf, ’80s pop, and even the occasional bout of bossa nova, executed with math rock precision which is so right to me.

"the group fuses elements from punk, emo, bossa nova, jazz and electronica into a catchy yet sophisticated package. their style features rhythmically complex interplay between the guitarists that is reminiscent of The Minutemen, supplemented by a bassline and percussion that lay down an active, jazzy groove. despite these lofty pretensions, the band remains readily accessible with solid hooks and smooth vocal, English-only delivery" - keikaku.net

Kawasaki Nobukazu - guitar
Hara Masakazu - bass, vocals
Kogure Eiichi - drums

founded in 1997 by Arai, Kawasaki, Kogure. they named themselves after Quentin Tarantino's production group A Band Apart, and were a metal cover band back then (with Arai on bass).

their debut single Fool Proof in October of 2001 emerged eclecticism with a bossa nova style that segues into energetic pop-punk, on top of that all lyrics were written in English, and composed and performed surprisingly well (which is rare for a japanese band). this would become standard for all of their future songs.
